DemoAlias does not collect, transmit, or sell any user data. The extension runs entirely
inside your browser.
What DemoAlias accesses
-
Page content (live SaaS pages): only when you click Replace / Save in
the popup, when you trigger the keyboard shortcut, or when an auto-apply runs for a site
you previously Saved. Scanning happens locally; nothing leaves your device.
-
chrome.storage.local: stores your scope and output
preferences and, for sites you explicitly Save, a hashed mapping of real sensitive
values to demo values. Real sensitive values are never written to storage —
only non-reversible hashes used to dedupe.
What DemoAlias does not do
- No analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, or fingerprinting.
- No network requests to any server (extension or third-party).
- No remote code loading; all logic ships in the extension package.
-
No reading of pages you have not interacted with via the popup or saved with Save.
Data retention and deletion
-
Saved mappings live in your browser's
chrome.storage.local until you click
Forget in the popup or uninstall the extension.
- Uninstalling DemoAlias removes all locally stored data.
